A friend of mine who likes to work with plastics sent me a link about plastic smithing that he thought would be good to share here.
Instructables.com shows you how to melt down plastic bags and reform them into something else. The example on their page demonstrates making plastic wheels via plastic smithing.
I had never heard of this before, so I was excited to read about it. And the great thing? It looks so easy to do. And, as a bonus by using this method, there should be no fumes.
Instructables.com provides pictures for all of the steps, so I found everything to be clear and easy to understand. And when you are working with plastics, it is a very good idea to know what you are doing!
So if you do decide to give this a try, please read all of the instructions first. I am not trying to scare you, but I cannot be held liable for any burnt pans or missing eyebrows. (I am honestly kidding here. You should be fine.)
